Get Involved!
You will get the most out of your CAI membership if you invest time into helping CAI-CV committees stay active and innovative. Our committees implement the strategic plan for the Chapter. From fun programs to publications to legislative activity, committee members provide the strength that enables the Chapter to meet the needs of its member communities in the Coachella Valley.

CAI – Coachella Valley Chapter relies on the hard work of numerous volunteers to remain the premiere resource for the community association industry in the Coachella Valley.
The following is a list of our current committees with meeting dates and times. Committee time commitment is about 2 to 3 hour per month to serve on a CAI-CV committee. Awards Committee (Meets 2nd Thursday of Every Month at 12pm)
The Awards Committee is responsible for organizing, planning, and promoting the Annual Award Gala. This event is developed as a social event to honor the hard work of CAI-CV volunteers during the previous year. This event serves as both a networking and fundraising event for the Chapter and provides the opportunity to nurture relationships for all CAI-CV members. In recent years, CAI-CV has included a faux casino Monte Carlo Night as entertainment.

Bowling Committee (Meets 2nd Wednesday of Every Month at 12pm)
The Bowling Committee is responsible for planning and executing the annual bowling tournament for 2016. This event is developed as a social event and provides the opportunity to build and grow business to business relationships for all CAI-CV members.

Business Partner Committee (Meets 1st Thursday of Every Month at 12pm)
The Business Partner Committee is a vital component of our chapter, committed to ensuring our business partners achieve the highest return on their investment. We take pride in mentoring and motivating our business partners, actively encouraging their participation in our chapter events and educational programs. One of our key roles is extending a warm welcome to new members. We're here to assist them in navigating their initial experiences, ensuring they feel right at home. We introduce them to the management companies and managers who are an integral part of the CAI Community.

Education Committee (Meets 2nd Thursday of Every Month at 4pm)
The Education Committee is responsible for administering the Chapter's Education Scholarship Program, planning, and presenting the Board Member Workshop (BMW) events, planning and presenting the Manager on the Run (MOTR) events, presenting the Board Leadership Development Workshop (BLDW) modules annually and assisting in scheduling and setting up the Professional Management Development Program (PMDP) courses offered in the Coachella Valley.

Golf Committee (Meets 4th Friday of Every Month at 3pm)
The CAI-CV Golf Committee is responsible for developing the Chapter’s golf fundraising activities. This Committee plans the annual golf tournament, sets the date, inspects and chooses a course, develops the day’s activities and marketing opportunities, sends out invitations and administers the event. The Committee works to create an environment where all CAI-CV members are welcome and can participate. Members and their guests are encouraged to have a great time while networking and building relationships.

HOA Living Magazine Committee (Meets 1st Wednesday of Every Month at 12pm)
The committee is responsible to produce the Coachella Valley CAI Chapter’s monthly newsmagazine, HOA Living Magazine. The team receives, reviews, and edits article submission. They serve as the Chapter’s information and educational needs in conjunction with the Education Committee. Ensure the Chapter’s programs and activities are promoted and highlighted in the publication.

Homeowner Leader Committee (Meets 3rd Tuesday of Every Month at 8:30am)
The Homeowner Leader Committee's mission is Two-fold. Expanding CAI-CV services for community board members and volunteers. Create resources for homeowner association board members to help them do their jobs

Legislative Support Committee (Meets 3rd Thursday of Every Month at 12pm)
The Programs Committee is responsible for planning and executing the CORKS FOR CLAC fundraiser on a yearly basis. This event’s purpose is to raise funds for the California Legislative Action Committee, in conjunction with the local Legislative Support Committee. It is also intended to educate all CAI-CV members on the importance of supporting legislation that impacts the CID industry in California.

Marketing Committee (Meets 2nd Monday of Every Month at 4pm)
The marketing committees’ mission is to widen the knowledge of who CAI is for homeowners, community managers, and business partners in the Coachella Valley through the development of tools for all members to promote CAI. And to develop objectives for each member group to want to become members and demonstrate the benefits derived by being a member and membership retention strategies.

Oktoberfest Committee (Meets 3rd Wednesday of Every Month at 12pm)
The Oktoberfest Committee is responsible for developing and planning this fun filled fund raising event to assist with funding the CAI-CV Chapter. The committee selects the venue, food and the entertainment. The committee is also responsible for sponsorships, invitations, programs, marketing, and registration.

Professional Managers Committee (Meets 1st Wednesday of Every Month at 3:30pm)
Primary Objective: Facilitate bringing more managers, at a higher level, into the local CID industry.
Working closely with Coachella Valley management companies, this CAI-CV Standing Committee will focus on expanding the community management career path. The Committee will focus on expanding the Chapter’s education for managers, encouraging managers to obtain CAI designations, and developing a clear career path for community management in higher education. The Committee will work with the College of the Desert, Cal State University San Bernardino and UC Riverside to explore ways to recruit new managers by connecting CAI education to currently taught college courses. The Committee will also look for ways to grow membership and provide more services to current manager members.

Social Media Committee (Meets 2nd Tuesday of Every Month at 12pm)
Manage and oversee the official social media channels of CAI-CV and/or authorized curators, and sponsors. The Social Media Committee (SMC) of the CAI-CV is established to manage and enhance the online presence of the HOA, foster community engagement, and disseminate important information, updates, and announcement efficiently

Volunteer Committee (Meets 3rd Wednesday of Every Month at 3:30pm)
The Volunteer Committee is the primary committee recommended to new CAI-CV members as it provides access to all the chapter’s events and programs and does not require a lot of chapter experience. The Volunteer Committee works with the Chairs/Co-Chairs of the other standing committees to identify “jobs” for each event that are suited for volunteers. Typically, these include helping with setup, registration and cleanup. The Volunteer Committee leadership will contact each committee to request a list of events/programs where help is needed. The volunteer committee will then delegate jobs to its members and report back to the event/program committee. The Volunteer Committee also provides support to the CAI-CV office in preparation for major events like lunch programs.
